"Zach, a child going through a difficult time, turns into a superhero and embarks on an adventure. He is also joined by his sister Zoe and his teddy bear, and they all learn to overcome their fears. When Zach needs to stay in the hospital for tests, he finds the situation almost too frightening - but the magical cape helps him triumph.
 
The Magical Cape is a story full of optimism, warmth, and cheerfulness, telling the tale of a sick boy, who by tying a superhero cape around his young shoulders, creates and encourages hope, boosting not only his own metnal and physical resilliance,  but also that of the children and adults around him. The superhero cape does all that and more, because the cape imaginatively renders the sick child himself a source of power. The cape is comparable to huge wings, which the child uses to soar above the pain, hiding his or her fear and sadness between its folds."
